Office Projects
|
|
Help our administrative staff do a variety of tasks like file, stuff envelopes, create labels,
print documents, enter data, create brochures and flyers, make phone calls, organize and more.

Become a Mentor
Orientation is not necessary for individual volunteer opportunities. For groups, orientation will usually last about 20-30
minutes followed by the project. At the meeting we discuss the different programs at ASCC and you can discover the
areas that most interest you.

Tutoring & Guest Speaking
Help tutor
youth with homework, prepare for ACT, SAT, GED, play musical instruments, sing and other academic
projects. Volunteer speakers are needed to talk to a group of youth about different careers, job positions
and functions, job industries, life experiences and other positive topics.

Group Support
Adopt an ILR Program
An ILR (Independent Living Residence) provides longer-term volunteer support
to one or more of our group homes/programs. The partnership allows ongoing support for basic needs, activities
and employment preparatory activities such as job shadowing. This may include celebrating birthdays, hair cuts,
dental work, school supplies, new clothing, food or dinners, yard work, paint projects and extracurricular
activities such as volunteer game nights, bowling, movies, tickets to sporting and other community events.
Dinners and Cookouts
Prepare your favorite recipe for children living in our residential programs. You can deliver the food
to the residences or enjoy a “family style” dinner with the children or you can host a BBQ cookout at a
park or at an ASCC residential home.
Yard/Site Cleanups or Paint Projects
ASCC partners with Hands-On- Nashville and helps paint or remove debris and other items from the homes in
our residential communities. Studies have shown that children who volunteer from an early age adopt healthy
lifestyle choices, learn life skills, and continue to volunteer into adulthood. We often help others who can
not help themselves due to illnesses, poverty or lack of manpower to get a project complete.
